Wow, I can’t believe the last time I blogged was in April! I’m sorry that I disappeared without saying anything, but life got busy and week after week went by without having the chance to write anything. Before I knew what was happening it was half way through July!!!
Most of my writing energy has been focused on the current draft of the next Emmy Nation book. I have been doing a final edit before I send it off to my lovely content editor for some outside eyes. It is has been a long journey with this book. It feels longer in many ways than the first, even though that is not the reality. I suppose that is what happens with the second go around, the expectations I created for myself after finishing the first book were more intense and it has been hard to let them go and allow this story to develop at its own pace.
Oh! do not attack me with your watch. A watch is always too fast or too slow. I cannot be dictated to by a watch. – Jane Austen
I love this quote, it reminds me that the more I think about timing, deadlines, and getting to the end of a project, the less I enjoy the process of doing the project.
So, I am excited to start blogging again. I won’t pressure myself to post as often as I was, but I will hold myself to task on enjoying the act of writing and sharing with all of you.
